Facebook 6.0 Update For iOS Brings Chat Heads And New iPad UI

Earlier this month, Facebook announced their new Home on Android, a new UI that centers on everything Facebook. The interface known as Facebook Home was recently released on the Google Play Store for compatible Android devices.
With Facebook Home, you get Chat Heads, which integrates SMS and Facebook messages and keeps them on top of everything else on your phone. Until now, this was only available on Android devices, but a new Facebook for iOS update now brings some of the features of Facebook Home to your iPhone and iPad.
Facebook has released version 6.0 of its iOS app, bringing the Chat Heads feature to iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Also, the app brings a brand new look for the News Feed on the iPad, giving more importance to photos and videos.
The Chat Heads feature in Facebook 6.0 for iOS lets you continue chatting with friends while you’re doing something else. However, this only works with Facebook messages, unlike both SMS and Facebook messages on Facebook Home for Android. You can move the heads around and tap on them to chat or flick them down to remove them.
Along with the Chat Heads, the latest update also brings new Stickers that can be sent in messages, which are visible when you tap on the smiley button. There are plenty to choose from, plus you can buy more by tapping on the basket. The News feed is now much cleaner and you can browse new feeds such as Music, Photos and Games.
On the iPad, the News Feed is even more exceptional and colorful as photos and videos are given more room.
Don’t be disappointed if you aren’t able to use the Chat Heads or Stickers after you update, because the rollout is still in progress and could take a few weeks to reach you. The update is available for free in the App Store. Download it, try out the new Chat Heads and let us know what you think of it in the comments section below.
