Zeptolabs hasn't been keeping a tight lid on the highly-anticipated sequel Cut the Rope 2.
We knew about it back in September and learned that Om Nom would leave his box and encounter other characters not too long after that.
In fact, we knew almost everything about the game except its release date - and now we have it.
Polygon reports that Zeptolabs has confirmed an iOS release for Cut the Rope 2 on December 19, but there's no mention of whether it will be a premium or free-to-play title.
Speaking to Polygon, Zeptolabs' CEO Misha Lyalin said that Cut the Rope 2 will tell "a different story" and will be "a very different game" due to its new mechanics.
The new story comes to light quickly as Om Nom leaves the confines of his familiar box and wanders out into world for the first time.
Once out of the box, players will guide Om Nom through a host of levels including a forest, the underground, a city park, and a junkyard. In these locations, Om Nom will encounter new friends with special abilities that will change the way Cut the Rope 2 plays.
Toss, a springy chap met in the city park, lets Om Nom bounce in the air, for example, while the disturbingly named "Lick" will change how players navigate a level.
We'll be catching up with Zeptolabs on Monday and will more to report on Cut the Rope 2 - including, hopefully, its pricing - then.
