Since 2011 the iPhone has been rumored to feature dual-LED flash to improve its lowlight performance, but we have yet to see it implemented in the iPhone. It looks like this could change though with the iPhone 5S.
According to NoWhereElse.fr the Chinese retailer Luna Commerce has posted a comparison image of what the iPhone 5S camera component looks like compared to that of the iPhone 5.
You can see by looking at the two parts that the alleged iPhone 5S camera components looks much different than that of the iPhone 5. This is because the flash in this case is independent from the lens, or as iPhoneInCanada puts it “it shows a standalone camera attached to a ribbon, while the iPhone 5 has a ribbon attached to the same iPhone part.”
If the leaked component of the iPhone 5S camera is to be believed it confirms that the iPhone 5S could sport a dual-LED flash.
Mind you, you will want to take the image with a grain of salt because Luna Commerce certainly doesn’t have a track record and could just be doing this for the publicity.
Besides dual-LED flash the iPhone 5S is expected to include a 12 or 13 megapixel camera with sensor from Sony.
Do you think Apple will include an independent dual-LED flash in the iPhone 5S?
