For those who know what they want to search for in specific apps on their iDevice, and wish to do it quickly, this is a tweak for you. That tweak is called ActiSearch. What exactly ActiSearch does is give you the freedom to set custom activation methods using Activator to quick search your choice of compatible websites and apps.
ActiSearch works for the following websites:
About.me
Amazon.com
AppAdvice.com
Ask.com
Baidu.com
Bing.com
DuckDuckGo.com
eBay.com
Engadget.com
FaceBook.com
Google.com
Pinterest.com
SOSO.com
Twitter.com
Wikipedia.com
Yahoo.com
YouTube.com
Cydia
More apps are to be added over time.
You could be browsing the internet then find out about another cool tweak you might want to download, and want to search for it in Cydia, or maybe you just need to quickly Google a thing or two. Well in these instances, ActiSearch is the best way to do these searches quickly, and with ease.
If you are anything like me, you probably have a cluttered home screen with a few pages of apps, which makes finding the things you need a problem. With this amazing tweak it is crazy fast, and easy to do a simple gesture that you have assigned to that website or app, then just type in what you want to search.
ActiSearch is avalible in Cydia from the ModMyi repo for $1.99, and this is definitely worth it.

Zeptolabs hasn't been keeping a tight lid on the highly-anticipated sequel Cut the Rope 2.
We knew about it back in September and learned that Om Nom would leave his box and encounter other characters not too long after that.
In fact, we knew almost everything about the game except its release date - and now we have it.
Polygon reports that Zeptolabs has confirmed an iOS release for Cut the Rope 2 on December 19, but there's no mention of whether it will be a premium or free-to-play title.
Speaking to Polygon, Zeptolabs' CEO Misha Lyalin said that Cut the Rope 2 will tell "a different story" and will be "a very different game" due to its new mechanics.
The new story comes to light quickly as Om Nom leaves the confines of his familiar box and wanders out into world for the first time.
Once out of the box, players will guide Om Nom through a host of levels including a forest, the underground, a city park, and a junkyard. In these locations, Om Nom will encounter new friends with special abilities that will change the way Cut the Rope 2 plays.
Toss, a springy chap met in the city park, lets Om Nom bounce in the air, for example, while the disturbingly named "Lick" will change how players navigate a level.
We'll be catching up with Zeptolabs on Monday and will more to report on Cut the Rope 2 - including, hopefully, its pricing - then.

For those of you who didn’t know, there is an iOS 7.0.4 tethered Jailbreak for ONLY iPhone 4 (GSM and CDMA). Normally when a new iOS comes out there is almost instantly a tethered Jailbreak for all devices running an Apple A4 chip or below, because of Geohot’s LimeRa1n hardware exploit which takes advantage of bootrom vulnerabilities that are unpatchable. The only way to patch this bootrom exploit is to release new hardware and Apple has obviously already done that.
So why the wait for the tethered iOS 7.0.4 Jailbreak?
Simply due to the fact no one was really working on it because when a Jailbreak is being worked on, it’s developed for all devices at the same time that are compatible with that version of iOS. With the release of iOS 7 things were made a little more complicated since the iPhone 4 is the only iDevice running an A4 chip that is compatible with iOS 7, because of that it is simply not worth the time or effort to only release one working Jailbreak.
Recently though there has been a released version of a tethered Jailbreak for iPhone 4′s running iOS 7.0.4 called RageBreak. Honestly it is a little different than other Jailbreak experiences and it is said to have a few errors when using Cydia, but they shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

The version of Cydia that runs in this particular Jailbreak is modified for compatibility for the iOS version and the Jailbreak. It will approximately take about 20 minutes to fully Jailbreak your iPhone 4. If you have an iPhone 4 and have been waiting for a jailbreak and just cannot wait any longer, then this would probably be worth your time. If you would want a more stable Jailbreak with much more reliability, the I do recommend that you wait for a Jailbreak released from the Evasi0n team.
You can Jailbreak your iPhone 4 running iOS 7.0.4 by following the instructions in the YouTube video shown below.

Here are all the files you will need:
-RageBreak Windows exe for 7.0.4
-Java Development Kit (this is a MUST)
-iOS 7.0.4 IPSW for the iPhone 4 (GSM and CDMA models)
-iTunes and .Net can be found through RageBreak
-Update Zip (see instructions listed below)
*This jailbreak ports Cydia to iOS 7 which causes many glitches and many packages will not support the upgrade.
1. Download Ragebreak, Java dev kit (and install it), and iOS 7.0.4 firmware
2. Open the Ragebreak application (If it does not open go to system prefs, security and privacy, and under the general tab allow apps downloaded from anywhere)
3. Once the terminal opens type “1″ and hit enter, if it prompts you to download Xcode do so.
4. Plug in your iPhone and enter DFU mode.
5.  Continue the Ragebreak shell using the password “alpine”.
6. After it is finished continue to the app and re enter DFU mode
7. Type the corresponding number into Ragebreak and wait for reboot.
8. In the main ragebreak screen type 5 and enter your phones ip address
9. Type yes and “alpine” for your password
10. Boot tethered again by entering DFU and following step 6.
This is a tethered jailbreak you will have to boot tethered every time your device powers off.

How To Downgrade From iOS 7.1 Beta To iOS 7.0.4

Apple released the iOS 7.1 beta 1 firmware to developers a few days ago and although we recommended that you stay away from the firmware unless you were a developer, it was actually possible for non-developers to update to iOS 7.1 by simply finding the firmware file online and manually updating.
If for some reason you were one of these people who updated to any of the iOS 7.1 beta firmware then you will be glad to know it is possible to downgrade back to the latest iOS 7.0.x firmware. Which at the time of writing this guide is iOS 7.0.4.

If you have an iPhone 4 you can even downgrade to previous firmware versions including iOS 7.0.3, 7.0.2, 7.0.1, 7.0 or even 6.0.x by following this guide.
Those with any device running iOS 7.1 besides the iPhone 4, however, will only be able to downgrade back to 7.0.4.
So just how do you go about doing this?
Downgrade iOS 7.1 to 7.0.4
iDoctorApple released a video showcasing the process, which is really only a normal manual restoration when it comes down to it. Thee isn’t really anything complicated about the process.
If you are struggling, however, here are the steps you should take:
Step 2) - Launch iTunes and plug your device into your computer via USB.
Step 3) - Put your device into DFU Mode, you can follow these instructions if you don’t know how. It isn’t hard though and only requires you to do the following:
• Hold down Power (corner) button for 5 seconds.
• Without releasing the Power button, also hold down the Home (bottom center) button along with the Power button for 10 seconds.
• Without releasing the home button, stop holding down the power button for up to 15 seconds.
After entering DFU mode your devices screen should be black and iTunes will tell you that your device needs to be restored.
Step 4) - Now just hold down the Alt/Option key on Mac or Shift key in Windows and click the Restore button. Then simply select the iOS 7.0.4 firmware and wait for the magic to happen!
It is worth noting that once the official iOS 7.1 firmware is released this method will not work because Apple will stop signing iOS 7.0.4.

Apple Releases iOS 7.1 Beta, Here is What's New

Apple has just seeded the first beta for iOS 7.1. Registered developers can grab the update from the Developer Center. The beta release comes just four days after Apple published iOS 7.0.4 to the public that included a fix for failed FaceTime calls.
Here are the direct download links and release notes:

Here’s what’s new in iOS 7.1 beta:
• For iPhone 5s owners, there’s a new option to upload burst photos to Photo Stream.
• A new accessibility setting to enable the dark keyboard in Settings > General > Accessibility > Use Dark Keyboard.
• Options to Reduce Transparency and Darken Colors are added in Settings > General > Accessibility > Increase Contrast.
It allows the user to turn the dock and folders background to dark grey and improves readability as you can see below.

Folders: Reduce Transparency Off and Darken Colors Off (left), Reduce Transparency On and Darken Colors Off (Center), Reduce Transparency On and Darken Colors On (Right)
Home Screen: Reduce Transparency Off and Darken Colors Off (left), Reduce Transparency On and Darken Colors Off (Center), Reduce Transparency On and Darken Colors On (Right)
• There’s a new Auto HDR mode for the camera, but appears to be an iPhone 5s only feature. It automatically selects the best photo from the HDR photos. If you want the camera to save all 3 exposures, you need to turn off the Auto toggle in the HDR toggle.
• The app closing animation with the multitasking gestures on the iPad has been tweaked. (via 9to5Mac)
• Larger Dynamic Type toggle has now been renamed to Larger Accessibility Sizes in the Accessibility settings.

• With iOS 7.1 beta, you can enable or disable bold text without restarting the device.
• There’s a new message that appears when all notifications are cleared from the NotificationCenter.

• Yahoo’s logo has been updated to the new one in Notification Center, Stocks, Weather and Mail.
• The Flickr icon, too, has changed in the Settings app, and now doesn’t have a gradient.
• iOS 7.1 beta doesn’t include Panoramic wallpapers, if you were hoping that Apple would enable it in future iOS software updates. There are no new Dynamic Wallpapers either.

A feature that could have easily gone unnoticed with yesterday’s release of iOS 7.0.3 is the return of web and Wikipedia search directly from Spotlight. The feature had been missing since the first beta release of Apple’s latest mobile operating system.
To access it, simply pull your Home screen down to reveal Spotlight Search. Then start typing whatever you’re looking for. If necessary, scroll all the way down. In my experience, I’ve found that some common searches usually return tons of emails first, making the feature a little less convenient to use than I would want to…
In Spotlight Search settings, there is no way of moving the Search options to the top either, so unless you’re searching for something very specific (see screenshot above), searching for vague keywords such as “iPhone” will likely return many unwanted items first (ie, emails containing the word “iPhone”).
It’s still nice to see this feature back in iOS 7.0.3. Now I’ll just have to remember to use it.

Watch ! How Apple Make Mac Pro [Video]

Apple has posted a video detailing the making of the all-new Mac Pro.

Designed around an innovative unified thermal core, the Mac Pro features the latest Intel Xeon processors with up to 12 cores, dual workstation-class GPUs, six Thunderbolt 2 ports, PCIe-based flash storage and ultra-fast ECC memory. Packing amazing performance in a stunning new design, the all-new Mac Pro starts at $2,999 (US) and will be available in December.
Take a look at the video below...

Goophone i5S look like iPhone 5s [Video]

Goophone, a Chinese phone company, is well-known for making iPhone clones, complete with identical software interfaces, and the company doesn’t disappoint with the Goophone i5S.
The Goophone i5S rips off not just the iPhone 5s’ external body, but even the iOS 7 software interface. It comes in gold, gray and white, and even has the metallic ring around the home button (without the Touch ID sensor of course).
It runs an Android variant that has been heavily customised to look like iOS 7, and we were quite surprised by the smoothness of the copied interface, as seen in the video below:

If all the crazy user interface zooming in-and-out effects of iOS 7 aren’t your cup of tea, you will be thrilled to discover there is an alternate subdued option available now which transforms the zoom effects into much more subtle fading transitions. This excellent option was introduced with iOS 7.0.3 in response to some usability issues, where certain users were experiencing motion sickness from the nonstop zoom motions that are seen when unlocking a device and opening and closing apps and folders. The result is a very well done fade transition that looks excellent, and even if you didn’t encounter nausea from the zooming around, you may prefer the fading transitions anyway, so here is how to enable the fade and replace the zoom motions:
-Open Settings and go to “General” followed by “Accessibility”
-Navigate to and select “Reduce Motion”
-Toggle this setting switch to the ON position
-Exit out of Settings to instantly see the difference in transition effects
The effects are almost impossible to capture with screen shots, though the image up top does show the middle frame frozen in the midst of a fading transition. The brief video below demonstrates turning this feature on, as well as the default zoom effects before and the new fading effects after the setting has been toggled on.

By no means does toggling this setting reduce the appearance of iOS, and some would argue that it makes things look better.
iPad users will probably notice the biggest change with this simply because of the larger screen sizes, but the effect is the same on the iPhone and iPod touch as well. The difference is substantial, thus this trick should remain high on the list of usability tips to improve the overall experience of iOS after the 7.0 release, regardless of the device in use.

Other than introducing a nice fading transition, this trick appears to make various user elements feel faster, though that could just be a result of a quicker UI transition. Nonetheless, we would definitely include this on the list of things to do for speeding up iOS 7 if you feel like it’s running slower than it should be on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
By the way, if toggling this switch does not enable the fading transitions on your device, you probably haven’t downloaded iOS 7.0.3 or updated yet. Do that first to be able to gain the new transition effects.

Earlier today, Apple announced that this year’s OS X update would be free for the first time ever to current Mac users. That’s right, as long as you have a compatible Mac computer, you’re eligible to get OS X Mavericks for free.
The update is a big one, bringing about several UI changes, new applications like Maps and iBooks, and a number of new features like Finder tabs and tags and quick reply for messages. And it’s now available for download…
If you’re still on the fence about Mavericks, despite the fact that it’s been made totally free, you might find some of iDB’s coverage on the update useful. We take a look at new features, the new apps, the design changes, and more.

For those that are ready to make the leap, you can find Mavericks in the Mac App Store for free. As usual, make sure to one, back up your computer, and two, ensure all of your most-used apps are Mavericks-friendly before you update.
